The African American Book Festival is an annual event which is aimed at promoting African American literature and arts. Owing to the past success stories of the Texas Book Festival event, this year’s edition promises to raise the bars even higher by hosting the bestselling author Angie Thomas presenting her novel The Hate U Give. Also, among the list are some big names like novelist April Sinclair (Coffee Will Make You Black), author and Salon Magazine Editor Large D. Watkins (The Cook Up), and keynote speaker UT Professor and author Peniel Joseph (Stokely: A Life, Dark Days, Bright Nights).The Texas Book Festival is free and open to everyone.
